Every year since 2015, Copenhagen Pride has organized events in February to bring the LGBTI+ community together during the cold, dark winter months. In collaboration with Queer Music Agency, Nordhus presents the sister duo Simako and Sedric Perry.
Simako
The sister duo Simako creates a unique sonic universe where rhythmic roots in Soul and R&B meet the alternative synth sounds of the Indie genre. Their heartfelt lyrical compositions bring to life the joys, sorrows, and mysteries that come with the pulsating rhythm of youth in Copenhagen. With the clear vocals in their songs, the whole experience feels like an echo of a relaxed summer.
Sedric Perry
Sedric Perry is the cutting edge expression of queer joy, his story told in a wealth of artistic mediums including singing, songwriting, performance, and artistic activism. Currently based in Berlin, and originally from Philadelphia, Sedric is a skilled and studied classically-trained vocalist who incorporates his gospel and jazz roots into a smooth blend of throwback-pop, R&B and dance. His music projects have amassed more than 30K monthly listeners on Spotify, and his work has been featured in Billboard, Complex, FAULT, Gay Times, and HBO’s We’re Here to name a few. He was also dubbed “Brilliant” by RuPaul for his creative direction on FHAT’s “Packin’”. In 2022, Sedric received a Berlin Music Video Award for his music video collaboration “Unbreakable Habits”. Alongside his own work, Sedric also writes for other artists, with his songwriting catalog reaching 25 million streams on Spotify in 2022, and going Gold in 2 countries. You can hear his recently-penned hit “Catch My Love” on Love Island UK.
