The message for this year’s theme is crystal clear: Same For Everyone

On May 17th, we mark IDAHOBIT – the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia. It is a day that highlights the discrimination, violence, and inequality that LGBTQIA+ people still face around the world. A day that reminds us that the fight for equality and respect is far from over.

That’s why today, we are revealing the theme for Copenhagen Pride 2025 – a theme that clearly reflects our values and our fight: Same for Everyone (Ens For Alle).

For years, Copenhagen Pride has been an unwavering voice for LGBTQIA+ people. A voice that doesn’t just speak – it acts. A platform for visibility, equality, and rights for everyone in our community.

In 2025, we will come together under one clear message: Same for Everyone.

When rights are threatened, we must stand firm

Same for Everyone is not just a vision – it is a necessary response to a reality where LGBTQIA+ rights are once again under pressure.

We are facing a reality where governments are banning Pride parades, and where trans rights are being rolled back in both the UK and the US. In countries like Trinidad and Tobago, homosexuality is criminalized again. These are not isolated incidents – they are a worrying trend.

Even in Denmark, hate crimes against LGBTQIA+ people remain a serious reality. In 2024, a trans woman was murdered in Copenhagen, and in 2025, five men were convicted of hate crimes related to Sønderborg Pride. We know that four out of five LGBTQIA+ people have experienced discrimination in the workplace in the last two years, and one in ten has been subjected to physical violence.

That’s why the message Same for Everyone is so important.
The right to be oneself, to love and live freely, must apply equally to all – without exception.
We are not asking for special rights. Only the Same For everyone.

Because rights cannot be measured or negotiated.

When we say that rights should be the Same For Everyone, we mean it. We do not accept half measures. We do not accept that some people are excluded. And we do not accept that the rights of LGBTQIA+ people become the subject of political negotiation.

Benjamin Hansen, chairperson of Copenhagen Pride, says it clearly:
“We are at a crossroads. If we don’t act now, we risk losing the rights we have fought for over decades. Same for Everyone is not just a message – it is a demand for action. It is a reminder that rights cannot be measured.”

A call to action – for all of us

Same for Everyone is not just a phrase. It’s a direct call to action — to politicians, institutions, businesses, and to each and every one of us. We all have a responsibility: a responsibility to use our voices, our actions, and our platforms to create real change. Change requires action. It demands that we stand firm — and speak out loud about what we expect:

Human rights — same for everyone
Dignity — same for everyone
Equality — same for everyone
Respect — same for everyone
Love — same for everyone
Pride — same for everyone
Same for everyone
