Pride Square

Pride Square 2023

The design of Pride Square this year will of course be affected by the fact that the iconic Dragon Fountain has been moved to the centre of City Hall Square. But we have been creative and are very excited to show the whole of Copenhagen what we have been working on for the last many months!

We can reveal that the Dragon Fountain will be fenced in and that we’re setting up a lounge area around it. In addition, there will be two different setups during the week: From Saturday the 12th to Wednesday the 16th, we have two stages. The Corner, a smaller stage close to the Fountain, where we will be hosting both talks and performances at eye level with the audience. In addition, there is Pride Week Stage, a slightly larger stage where you can experience dance, shows, and concerts throughout the week.

The set-up changes on Thursday 17 August, when instead of the two stages, we will have the large Show Stage in front of the City Hall, where the audience can experience a blast of a show for Youth Night on Thursday, the iconic Drag Night on Friday and of course the big Pride Show on Saturday.

In addition to the stages, there will of course be plenty of opportunities to eat and drink on the square. As always, we will have our own bars where the proceeds from the sale of drinks will go to Copenhagen Pride. We have also made agreements with several food suppliers who will ensure that there are versatile, affordable, and delicious options to satisfy your hunger. At Pride Square, you can also meet several of our partners, shop Pride merch and of course just hang out with friends in a cheerful and rainbow-coloured environment.

Among the trees at the far end of City Hall Square, we are creating a new area this year: the Community Garden. Here you can participate in social events such as the popular friendship dating, meet a wide range of LGBTI+ organisations and visit our new alcohol-free bar.

Moving away from City Hall Square, there are still plenty of Copenhagen Pride events close by. These include:

  • Human rights events at Regnbuepladsen, City Hall, Vartov and at Mannaz on Farvergade
  • PrideCon in Huset-KBH
  • Children’s Pride in Rådhushaven
  • The Pride Art exhibition at Nytorv
  • Film screenings in Grand Teatret

So mark your calendars for 12-20 August when we invite all of Copenhagen to #ComeTogether under the rainbow!
